A Meorial to the IBB/IJLB unit and all those who served in her is becoming a reality, thanks to the generosity of all those individuals and Regimental Associations who have made donations to the project. Letters and emails giving details of the Dedication Weekend started going out at the beginning of this week to all those who we have a current email or postal address for. A copy of the information can be found here http://ijlb.co.uk/DM/MDW.pdf for all those who did not receive a personal copy and for those who have not registered their details with us yet.
I would just like to add a big thank you to all those who, through their dedication and hard work have seen a great idea through to reality. In particular Ken and Graham, without who we would not be in the position we are today.
On going information can be found on the association forum and pages will be appearing on the web site shortly along with regular updates here.

The association web site is under constant review and development with the obvious aim of increasing its usefulness to members. The Links button on the front page menu bar is now working. Click on the Links button and you will be presented with 2 options, Submit a Link and View Links. At present there are only a few links to view and they are contained on one page which I may change as more links are added.
When considering whether to submit a link or not, there are two things to keep in mind. Will this be usefull to other members and quality over quantity. If you notice a broken link then it would be great if you could let me know.

The new association forum has been up and running now for 140 days and has 160 members to date with seven people who are awaiting approval. If you are one of these people then we are unable to approve you until you respond to the email that was sent out when you registered with the forum. If you are registered with the association then we already know about you so you’ll be approved asap. If your not registered with us then you will need to before we can approve you or email us to tell us who you are and why you need access to post. This is a security measure and for every-ones benefit who uses the forum.
Members of the forum have made over 7,500 posts in 860 topics. A very active forum by anyones standards. If you have not joined the forum then please do. You will receive a great welcome.

Welcome to the Association Blog, a less formal and easier way to communicate than the forum.
Fundraising for the Memorial is going far, far better than we ever expected and we are now in a position to say that the Dedication will definitely be a goer for 6/7 June, 2009. You should all be getting a letter with all the details for booking from us soon. We sincerely hope that you will support this unique event and we look forward to welcoming you back to Oswestry and to Park Hall.
